How do I make Firefox full screen?

  • Press ⌃ ⌘ F.
  • Or click the green button at the top left of the window.
  • Or choose View, Enter Full Screen.

Firefox moves to its own Space, and the menu bar and Dock hide. The same keys take it back out.

How do I see the toolbar in full screen?

Move the pointer to the top edge of the screen. The tabs and address bar slide down, and hide again when you move away. ⌘ L jumps to the address bar from anywhere.

How do I fill the screen without full screen?

Press fn ⌃ F on macOS 15 and later, or hold ⌥ and click the green button. The window grows to fill the screen, but stays on your desktop with the menu bar showing. Better when you switch to other apps often. See full screen versus maximise.

Why does F11 not work in Firefox on a Mac?

On a Mac, F11 belongs to the system, where it shows the desktop. See F11 on a Mac.

The same for other browsers: Safari full screen and Chrome full screen.
