PaperWM for Mac: a scrolling strip, on macOS
PaperWM brought scrollable tiling to GNOME. On a Mac there is PaperWM.spoon for Hammerspoon, or a native app. How the options compare.
PaperWM is an extension for the GNOME desktop on Linux that places windows side by side on a horizontal strip you scroll along. It is where many people first met the idea.
Options on a Mac
PaperWM.spoon
An open source plugin for Hammerspoon, the Mac automation tool, inspired by PaperWM. You install Hammerspoon, add the plugin, and configure it in Lua. A good choice if you already use Hammerspoon and enjoy scripting.
ClutterFreeMac
A native app with the same strip, plus stacks, preset widths, two finger scrolling, a strip map and per display strips. Settings in a window, nothing to script.
