Window management on macOS Tahoe 26
What macOS Tahoe 26 gives you for arranging windows, the settings to check after upgrading, and whether window manager apps work on it.
macOS Tahoe 26 keeps the window tiling that arrived in Sequoia: drag a window to an edge or corner, or use Fn ⌃ and an arrow, and it fills that half or quarter. Mission Control, Spaces and Stage Manager work as before, with the new look.
Settings to check after upgrading
- System Settings, Desktop & Dock, Windows: the four tiling settings. See turning off tiling.
- Mission Control: Automatically rearrange Spaces, and switching to a Space with open windows.
- Privacy & Security: Accessibility and Screen & System Audio Recording for any window apps you use. Upgrades sometimes need them switched off and on again.
Window manager apps on Tahoe
ClutterFreeMac runs on macOS Tahoe 26, as well as Ventura 13, Sonoma 14 and Sequoia 15, on Apple silicon and Intel. If a window app stops moving windows after an upgrade, see Accessibility permission not working.
